What BUUS Means
Boden Develops Teaching Systematically (BUUS) began in autumn 2024 and includes all municipal primary schools. The goal is to make teaching and the school environment even better. Every student should feel safe, seen, and motivated. Teachers are given tools and support to strengthen what already works well and to improve what can be better.
Purpose and Goals
We are building a meaningful and developing school day. Every student has the right to a good education. To achieve that, teachers need support, knowledge, and opportunities to collaborate.
What We Aim to Achieve
- Improve everyday school life for students
- Create a shared foundation for classroom work
- Strengthen team spirit and professional pride among staff
- Show that Boden invests in the school of the future
What It Means for Your Child
The goal is equal and inclusive education, no matter which school a student attends. Students should reach their goals, feel safe and involved, develop essential skills, and grow with strong values and confidence in the future.
How We Work in the Classroom
Development takes place step by step, supported by research and cooperation between schools. The focus is on high-quality teaching where students are active participants.
Active Learning
Students are encouraged to ask questions, collaborate, explore ideas, and reflect on their learning. When students are engaged, they understand better and develop faster.
The BUUS Model in Teaching
Students get to:
- start with exploratory activities
- take part in structured discussions
- document their own progress
- do varied exercises that train different skills
- read and reflect
Safety and Participation
A positive learning environment helps students take responsibility for their own learning. It strengthens understanding and motivation.
Collaboration and Shared Quality
The BUUS initiative is based on cooperation between schools, teachers, and principals. Together, we develop methods grounded in research and proven experience.
A Shared Foundation
We build on what already works and improve it together. This creates more equal teaching across the municipality.
Three Parts of the Development Work
- Teaching: focus on classroom quality
- Systematics: shared methods and routines
- Collaboration: exchange of ideas and experiences between schools
Pride in the Profession
When teachers get the right support, they can grow professionally. This benefits both staff and students and strengthens the entire school organisation.
