Teaching and approach
Preschool class bridges preschool and school. Teaching builds on what your child has already learned. Teachers encourage children to explore, learn and gain new knowledge.
All children should feel a sense of community, participation and safety. Work on core values is therefore an important part of teaching. During the year, your child gets to know school staff and other pupils, which creates a secure start.
A school day in preschool class is about five hours.
School visits
In spring, children are invited to visit their school. The goal is for them to feel safe and welcome before the autumn start. The number and length of visits can differ between schools.
Compulsory school start
Preschool class is compulsory in the year your child turns six. School attendance begins in preschool class.
Because the place is compulsory, no offer is sent to guardians. Instead, you receive a placement notice for the school that belongs to the catchment area for your child’s registered address.
