What we offer
All pupils in Years seven, eight and nine receive study and career guidance. Guidance counsellors support and inform pupils and guardians, both individually and in groups.
The goal is for every pupil to make a well-founded upper secondary choice and be better prepared for working life.
How we work in Years 7–9
- Activities differ between year groups.
- Pupils gain knowledge about study pathways, occupations and the labour market.
- Conversations start from the pupil’s strengths, interests and goals.
- Guardians are invited when relevant.
Activities in compulsory school
- Information before the upper secondary school choice.
- Reviews of study pathways and entry requirements for different programmes.
- Support to explore career options and understand the labour market.
- Practical work experience in workplaces.
- Individual and group guidance conversations.
- Exercises to build self-knowledge, goal setting and decision-making skills.
- Industry days and fairs about studies and careers.
- Programme visits and study visits to upper secondary schools in Boden, Luleå, Piteå and Älvsbyn.
