A large school with many choices
Björknäsgymnasiet is the only upper secondary school in Boden, with more than 800 students. The school offers 12 different national programmes, introductory programmes, and an adapted upper secondary school. You can choose between vocational programmes that lead directly to employment after graduation, or academic programmes that open the door to higher studies.
Our profiles and specialities
At our school you can specialise in something that makes your time in education even more valuable:
- NIU – nationally approved sports training in handball and biathlon.
- Sports as an individual choice in riding, handball, ice hockey, or football.
- The Bernadotte profile focusing on leadership, health, safety, and outdoor life.
- International Baccalaureate (IB) – an international programme that gives global eligibility.
- Certifications such as Teknikcollege, DGE (Diploma in Business and Economics), Motorbranschcollege, and Visita (the Restaurant and Food Programme) demonstrate that our educational programmes maintain high quality and give you an advantage in the labour market.
International opportunities
We cooperate with schools in Europe through Erasmus+, giving you the chance to take part in exchanges and projects that provide new experiences and perspectives. The IB programme also gives you a diploma recognised by universities all over the world.
School life and community
At Björknäsgymnasiet, students with different backgrounds and interests come together. The school offers a vibrant environment with music, culture, sports, and student associations. Through joint activities and projects, you build a strong community and make friends for life.
Studies that prepare you for the future
At our school, you can choose between vocational programmes and higher education preparatory programmes. In the vocational programmes, you’ll get at least 15 weeks of workplace training and the opportunity to qualify for higher education.
The higher education preparatory programmes give you a broad foundation for further studies, and our certified programmes add extra value when you apply for jobs. We work closely with employers and universities to make sure you’re ready for the next step.
