The Restaurant and Food Programme is a vocational programme for students who want to work with food, service, and beverages. Specialisation and courses
The programme has one specialisation: Kitchen and serving.
You learn how to plan, prepare, and serve food, as well as how to meet guests in a professional way. You also gain knowledge in hygiene, nutrition, and work environment.
Workplace practice (APL)
You complete at least 15 weeks of workplace practice. This gives you hands-on experience in the profession and the chance to build contacts that may lead to work after graduation.
Opportunities after the programme
After graduation, you can work as a chef, waiter, baker, or pastry chef. You can also continue to higher vocational education, or with the right additional courses, to university studies.
Eligibility and application
To be eligible for the programme you need passing grades in Swedish or Swedish as a second language, English, mathematics, and five other subjects from compulsory school. Applications are made through the upper secondary school admission system.
Student life and electives
As a student, you will work in modern kitchens and dining rooms and sometimes take part in real events. You can also choose additional courses such as languages, sports, or arts to broaden your education.
