About the programme
The Technology Programme is for students who want to understand, develop, and create technology. You will learn about design, production, construction, programming, and technical systems. The programme prepares you for higher education and gives you broad eligibility for further studies.

Specialisations and courses
You can choose between two specialisations:
- Design and product development – focus on design processes, construction, and form.
- Information and media technology – focus on programming, web development, and digital technology.
All students also take common courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and technology.
The fourth year – Upper secondary engineer (TE4)
After three years in the Technology Programme, you can choose to add a fourth year and become an upper secondary engineer in industrial design and product development. You’ll gain practical experience, at least ten weeks of workplace training, and valuable contacts with local companies – a great path toward both work and further studies.
Opportunities after the programme
After graduation, you can continue to university or other higher education. Common study paths include civil engineering, architecture, design, or IT development. The programme also gives eligibility for many natural science programmes.
Eligibility and application
To be eligible, you need passing grades in Swedish or Swedish as a second language, English, mathematics, and nine other subjects. At least three of these must be in science and one in social science. Applications are made through the upper secondary admissions system.
Student life and electives
As a student, you will work in project-based learning, often in collaboration with companies. You can also choose electives such as languages, sports, or arts to broaden your studies.

It is preparatory for higher education and includes a lot of mathematics and science, but you will get support to succeed.
Can I become an engineer after this programme?
Yes, the programme gives eligibility for both bachelor’s and master’s engineering studies.

The programme is mainly for further studies, but you may work with simpler technical tasks.
