Vehicle and transport

Here you’ll learn to work with vehicles, transport and service. You’ll gain hands-on skills, at least 15 weeks of workplace training, and be ready to start work straight away or move on to further studies.

About the programme

The Vehicle and Transport Programme is a vocational pathway for those interested in vehicles, technology and service. You will learn how to troubleshoot, repair and maintain different types of vehicles, or work within the transport sector. The programme combines theory and hands-on training, with a focus on problem-solving and safety.

Specialisations and courses

You can choose between three specialisations:

  • Car – service, repair and troubleshooting on passenger cars.
  • Truck and Mobile Machinery – working with heavy vehicles and machinery.
  • Transport – training as a professional driver, including driving licence training for heavy vehicles.

All students also take general subjects such as Swedish, English and mathematics, along with core vehicle courses.

Workplace training (APL)

You will complete at least 15 weeks of workplace training. This gives you real work experience and contacts that often lead to employment after graduation.

Opportunities after the programme

After graduation you can work as a car mechanic, truck mechanic, machinery mechanic or professional driver. You can also continue to higher vocational education. By adding university-preparatory courses, you will also be able to apply for university studies.

The programme is certified as a Motor Industry College, meaning it meets the industry’s high standards and makes you especially attractive to employers.

Eligibility and application

To be eligible, you need passing grades in Swedish (or Swedish as a second language), English, mathematics and five other subjects from compulsory school. Applications are made through the upper secondary admissions system.

Student life and electives

As a student you will have access to modern workshops and training vehicles. You can also choose additional courses such as languages, sport or other subjects to broaden your education.
