Apply for a green card to Brännkläppen recycling center

With a Green Card, you get access to the recycling centre Monday to Saturday from 06:00 to 22:00. Here you can find out how to apply, what the requirements are, and how to use the card correctly and safely.

1. Before you apply

  1. To apply for a Green Card, you must be:
  • Registered as a resident in Boden Municipality, or
  • Have an active waste subscription for a holiday home in the municipality.

Companies cannot apply for a Green Card and are instead referred to staffed opening hours.

The Green Card gives you personal access to Brännkläppen Recycling Centre during unstaffed hours: Monday–Saturday, 06:00–22:00. The card is personal and may not be lent to others.

2. training

Once your application has been approved, you will receive an email with a link to an online training course. The training covers rules, routines, and safety information. You must complete the course and pass a final test.

The training must be repeated every two years for the card to remain valid.

3. Submit your application

  1. Go to the e-service.
  2. Log in with electronic identification and select the service “Self-service Recycling Centre – Green Card”
  3. Fill in and submit your application

If there are many applications, you may have to wait until space is available for approval.

4. Use the Green Card at Brännkläppen Recycling Centre

  • Enter by scanning your driving licence at the gate.
  • Follow the signs and sort your waste according to the recycling centre’s instructions.
  • All bags must be transparent. Black or dark bags must be emptied and sorted on site.
  • Hazardous waste (such as paint, oil, batteries) can only be dropped off during staffed hours.
  • Any theft, misuse, or lending of the card may result in suspension.
