Apply for cultural grants and event grants

Cultural funding in Boden covers support for both long-term cultural activities and individual events. Here you’ll find a quick overview of the types of grants, criteria, and how to apply.

1. What is cultural funding?

Cultural funding in Boden mainly consists of two forms of support: Cultural Activity Grants and Cultural Event Grants. Both aim to strengthen cultural life by providing long-term support to established cultural associations and support for individual cultural events.

2. Cultural Activity Grants

2.1 Purpose

Annual support for cultural associations with extensive and regular activities.

2.2 Who can apply?

Cultural associations in Boden that continuously contribute to the municipality’s cultural life, such as event organizers, cultural heritage associations, or producer associations.

2.3 Assessment criteria

  • Scope, quality, and development potential of the activities
  • Contribution to cultural heritage and innovation
  • Inclusion, diversity, and focus on children and youth
  • Collaboration with other actors

Application: Via Föreningsportalen by 31 October each year.
Reporting: Must be submitted by 31 January the following year.

3. Cultural Event Grants

3.1 Purpose

Financial support for associations that want to carry out individual cultural events contributing to a diverse cultural offering in Boden.

3.2 Who can apply?

Non-profit associations registered in Föreningsportalen.

3.3 Examples of events

Concerts, theatre performances, art exhibitions, literature events, dance performances.

3.4 Assessment criteria

  • Cultural quality and public benefit
  • Innovation and diversity
  • Collaboration and inclusion.

Application: Via Föreningsportalen – possible year-round.

4. Steps to apply

  1. Register the association in Föreningsportalen (if not already done).
  2. Prepare documents: statutes, annual meeting documents, project or activity description, budget.
  3. Log in to the portal and choose either Cultural Activity Grants or Cultural Event Grants.
  4. Complete the application and attach all required documents.
  5. Submit and track the status in the portal.

5. After the application

  • Decisions are communicated via Föreningsportalen and email.
  • Payment is made according to the decision after approval.
  • Reporting of granted support is required within the set deadline – usually by 31 January for Cultural Activity Grants or according to specific conditions for Cultural Event Grants.
  • Additional information may be requested by the case officer and should be submitted directly in the portal.
  • If reporting is not submitted, the association may be required to repay funds or be denied future support.
