Travel with assisted transport

Färdtjänst ger dig som har svårt att resa med kollektivtrafik möjlighet att ta dig till vardagens aktiviteter, arbete och studier på ett enkelt sätt.

WHO CAN GET SPECIAL TRANSPORT?

Special transport is for people with long-term disabilities that make it difficult to use regular public transportation. The goal is to help everyone live an independent life and get to work, activities, and friends even if mobility is limited.

How to apply

Apply online or call the Citizen Service Center for help. After you apply, a case officer will contact you for a phone call or home visit.
You will receive a decision by phone and letter. If denied, you can appeal within three weeks.

Trips and Rules

Special transport trips can be made anywhere within Boden Municipality and up to 50 kilometers into neighboring municipalities. These trips are meant for everyday activities such as shopping, visiting friends, or getting to leisure activities.

You may bring an escort or a travel companion if needed. Mobility aids and allergy-friendly vehicles can be requested, but you must mention this when booking the trip.

There are also rules for booking and pickup times:

  • For trips within Boden Municipality, book at least one hour in advance. The vehicle may arrive up to 15 minutes before or after the requested time.
  • For trips outside Boden Municipality (up to 50 km), book at least one day in advance. The vehicle may arrive up to two hours before or after the requested time because trips are coordinated with other bookings.

Costs and discounts

Prices follow the regional public transport system but have som local adaptations.

How to book a trip

Once approved, you will receive booking information and the phone number to call. When booking, provide your name, address, phone number, destination, and any special needs such as a companion, medical aids, or an allergy-friendly car.
