New Cycling Plan 2025–2029
On 24 February 2025, the Municipal Council adopted a new cycling plan for 2025–2029. The plan aims to make cycling easier, safer, and more convenient throughout the municipality.
Key improvements
- Better cycling routes – old paths will be upgraded and connected to make it easier to travel through the town.
- Safer crossings – dangerous intersections will be improved, especially where cyclists meet car traffic.
- Prioritized snow clearing – cycle paths and walkways will be cleared first so that more people can cycle all year round.
- More bike parking – new stands will be installed at bus stops, schools, and important destinations.
- Clearer wayfinding – improved signs and a digital cycling map will make it easier to navigate.
What does the cycling plan mean for you?
- If you already cycle – safer and more connected routes with fewer dangerous crossings.
- If you drive a car – more opportunities to choose the bike and help create smoother traffic.
- If you have children – safer school routes for children cycling to and from school.
Four reasons to choose the bike
- Better health – daily cycling reduces stress and improves fitness.
- Better environment – less car traffic means cleaner air and less noise.
- Cheaper travel – cycling is cost-effective.
- Less congestion – bikes take up less space than cars, making the town more accessible.
