New Cycling Plan 2025–2029

On 24 February 2025, the Municipal Council adopted a new cycling plan for 2025–2029. The plan aims to make cycling easier, safer, and more convenient throughout the municipality.

Key improvements

  • Better cycling routes – old paths will be upgraded and connected to make it easier to travel through the town.
  • Safer crossings – dangerous intersections will be improved, especially where cyclists meet car traffic.
  • Prioritized snow clearing – cycle paths and walkways will be cleared first so that more people can cycle all year round.
  • More bike parking – new stands will be installed at bus stops, schools, and important destinations.
  • Clearer wayfinding – improved signs and a digital cycling map will make it easier to navigate.

What does the cycling plan mean for you?

  • If you already cycle – safer and more connected routes with fewer dangerous crossings.
  • If you drive a car – more opportunities to choose the bike and help create smoother traffic.
  • If you have children – safer school routes for children cycling to and from school.

Four reasons to choose the bike

  • Better health – daily cycling reduces stress and improves fitness.
  • Better environment – less car traffic means cleaner air and less noise.
  • Cheaper travel – cycling is cost-effective.
  • Less congestion – bikes take up less space than cars, making the town more accessible.
