Who can get a Youth Travel Card
The Youth Travel Card is available for young people from 7 up to 19 years old. It is a period card valid for 6 months or 1 year.
How to buy the card
- The card can be purchased at Citizen Service in the Town Hall or at the Boden Travel Center by the railway station.
- You must be able to prove your age both when buying the card and during ticket inspections.
- Current prices are available at citybussboden.se.
When and where you can travel
With the Youth Travel Card, you can travel without limits within Boden Municipality until the day you turn 20. The card is valid for:
- Local public transport
- Regional lines 21, 23, 29, 44, 260, 261, 262, 265, and 266
- On weekdays after 19:00 also line 28
Special rule for Sävastnäs
If you live in Sävastnäs, you can get a special travel permit connected to your Youth Travel Card that allows travel on line 28 at all times of the day.

Why you should choose local public transport
Even though regional buses also operate within Boden, you should travel with the local buses whenever possible. Boden Municipality is responsible for and finances the local services.
Every trip made with the Youth Travel Card on regional buses costs the municipality extra. By choosing local buses, you help us continue to develop public transport in Boden.
Rules for the card
- The card is personal, and only one card per person is valid.
- If you have more than one, all except the newest card will be blocked.
- Always use the same card for renewal as long as it is intact and works.
- Save the card number or receipt in case the card stops working or is lost.
- At the Travel Center, staff can block your old card and transfer the balance to a new one.
