Apply for a road maintenance grant

Your application must include:
- A map showing the section of road covered by the application.
- Personal details and the address of the resident living furthest along the road.
If a road association is applying for the grant, you must also attach:
- The association’s bylaws.

A new application must be submitted each year, no later than October 31.
The grant is paid once per year. Grants of less than 50 SEK are not paid out.
Private roads with state funding
The municipality can provide grants for the operation and maintenance of private roads that receive, or may be eligible to receive, state funding from the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket).
The grant is calculated based on Trafikverket’s estimated maintenance cost for the road. The amount you can receive depends on the type of road.
Categories of roads
- Category A (30%): Rural roads used by permanent residents.
- Category B (55%): Roads in more densely populated areas that are used by more people than those living along the road.
- Category C (10%): Through roads where most road users do not live along or have a share in the road.
Payment
- The municipality’s grants is paid in January-March.
