Day activities and respite care
Through day activities and different forms of respite care, your loved one can enjoy a meaningful day with community and activities, while you get time for rest or to take care of your own matters.

Day activities at Garnis
The day activities are for people with dementia. Here you can have a meaningful day with community, activities, and stimulation. The goal is to maintain your strengths, support your self-esteem, and help you continue living at home for longer.
To take part, you need a decision from the Assistance Unit and a medical certificate confirming the diagnosis.

Drop-in respite
To make everyday life easier for relatives, there is a drop-in service offering respite care. Your loved one can meet others, take part in simple activities, and enjoy social interaction. No application or advance registration is required.
Time: Tuesdays 12:30–15:30.

Home respite
If you care for a loved one with major care needs, you can receive four hours of respite care per week free of charge (if you do not already have home care). The service is provided in the home.
Short-term stay and alternating care
As a relative, you can apply for a short-term stay for your loved one if you need rest or need to travel. There is also the option of alternating care, where the short-term stay is planned regularly, for example a few days each month.
