Application and assessment
Occupational therapists or physiotherapists will determine which assistive device is right for you. This is done through a home visit or at the health centre, depending on your needs and whether it is necessary.
Contact
Contact an occupational therapist or physiotherapist through Citizen Service at 0921-620 00 to book an assessment.
What assistive devices are available?
Examples of assistive devices include walking frames, wheelchairs, shower chairs and other products that make it easier to move around, manage hygiene and get dressed.
What does it cost?
- Some assistive devices can be borrowed free of charge.
- For example, prescribing hygiene aids and walking frames may mean that you pay part of the cost yourself (a personal fee).
- If you are not a home healthcare patient, there may also be a fee for a home visit when the equipment is fitted.
