Application and fee
To receive a personal alarm, you need to apply through the municipality’s assistance unit (case officers for support and help at home).
- Call us through Citizen Service at 0921-620 00.
Phone hours: Monday–Wednesday and Friday, 08:45–09:30. - E-service: Apply for home care and support services in the home
Fee
The personal alarm is a paid service. You can find the current fee in the municipality’s information about care and support charges.
Installing the personal alarm
When you have been granted a personal alarm, municipal staff install a care phone in your home. The municipality is responsible for the entire alarm chain and for the call costs.
A key safe is mounted outside your home so that staff can enter and help you. You should not keep a key on the inside of the front door, use a security chain or lock inner doors.
How the personal alarm works
- You activate the alarm by pressing the button on the alarm pendant.
- The care phone automatically calls the alarm centre.
- Through the speaker and microphone, you can talk directly to staff.
- The alarm centre contacts home care staff during the day or the night patrol at night.
- Staff should be with you within 60 minutes. This time may be affected by weather and distance.
The personal alarm should only be used in urgent situations that you cannot manage on your own, such as if you fall or need emergency help in the bathroom. In case of sudden serious illness, you must call 112 yourself.
Important to remember
- Always wear the alarm pendant, even in the shower (but not in the bath).
- Do not move the care phone – this may weaken reception.
- Leave the alarm pendant at home if you are away for several days.
- The alarm is personal. If you want someone else in the household to take over the alarm, contact the assistance unit.
- It is possible to have two alarm pendants connected to the same personal alarm.
