Activities and community
Åcenter organises shared activities. These may include games, baking, reading aloud, music, dance, meditation, film, or barbecue evenings. Activity coordinators help with planning and building a sense of community.
The residence has a large common room for activities, an outdoor terrace overlooking the Bodån river, and a gymnasium. It's also close to cultural offerings, shops, cafés, and bus services.
Care and support
Åcenter is a means-tested sheltered housing facility (trygghetsboende). Åcenter's staff work to create a sense of security, community, and wellbeing. If you have care needs that require home care and/or home nursing, you apply for this separately.
About the residence
Åcenter is aimed at older people who want to live more securely and have more community, but who don't need a traditional care home. It offers a social and pleasant environment close to the town's services, culture, and public transport.
Apartments and environment
The residence consists of apartments that function as ordinary homes, but where the kitchen and social areas have a simpler design. These are complemented by shared common areas and kitchens. Residents describe Åcenter as "a safer home where there's always someone to talk to".
