Updated:

Please note that all forms and digital applications (e-services) are currently in Swedish. Contact Citizen Service if you need help in English.

1. Who can apply and how does it work?

  • Young people who are registered residents of Boden Municipality and who meet the age requirements for the current year.
Up-to-date information about age limits, salary, and other conditions is published on the application page each year.

1.1 Application process

  • Applications are made through the Feriebas platform.
  • The municipality coordinates placements – submitting an application does not guarantee a job, but the goal is to offer all applicants a placement.
  • Once a workplace has been arranged, an email will be sent with information – respond quickly, as the offer may be passed on to others if you decline or do not reply.

1.2 Summer job periods

There are three possible three-week periods during the summer (exact dates may vary slightly each year):

  • Period 1: 16 June – 6 July
  • Period 2: 7 July – 27 July
  • Period 3: 28 July – 17 August

1.3 Working hours and breaks

  • Workdays are 6–8 hours, with at least a 30-minute unpaid lunch break if the workday exceeds 4.5 hours.
  • You may work a maximum of 120 hours during the entire period.
  • Working hours are restricted: you are not allowed to work between 23:00 and 06:00.

1.4 Supervision

  • Each workplace must provide a supervisor who supports and guides you throughout the work period.

2. Conditions for associations

  • Work shifts (6 or 8 hours per day) may vary depending on the tasks offered by the association.
  • Supervision is required, and work must never be carried out alone.

3. Summer jobs with private employers

  • Wages follow the applicable collective agreements within the industry.
  • The municipality provides a subsidy corresponding to the municipal hourly wage (excluding social fees), but the employer must ensure the contractual wage is paid even if the subsidy does not cover the full cost.
  • Attendance is reported via Feriebas, and an attendance form must also be submitted to JobbCenter after each period.

4. Salary routines

  • Exact amounts, taxes, and account details vary from year to year.
  • Current information about wages is always available on the application page for that year.
